VAN HOUCKE Motors
FCM Brake Motors integrate a Dereli-manufactured DC brake directly onto FCM’s three-phase electric motors, providing immediate stopping torque and secure load holding whenever power is cut. These brake-equipped motors cover standard frame sizes from 63 through 160, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial drives that demand both motion control and fail-safe stopping capability.
Features
Each FCM Brake Motor is built around a robust cast-iron motor housing fitted with a Dereli DYF series brake unit. Brake torques range from 5 Nm on the 63–71 frames up to 200 Nm on the 160 frame, all operating at 198 V DC and drawing minimal current (0.12 A–0.42 A), for power inputs between 23 W and 87 W. Because the brake adds only a modest extra length to the motor, installation remains straightforward and dimensionally consistent with standard FCM motors. The DC brake engages spring-loaded friction pads, ensuring a reliable mechanical stop and holding function without the need for external braking resistors.
