Stainless-steel motors are built with 304-grade or higher stainless steel, offering exceptional resistance to rust, chemicals, and aggressive cleaning agents commonly used in wash-down routines. Their smooth, rounded housings eliminate crevices where dirt or bacteria can accumulate, supporting compliance with HACCP, EHEDG, and FDA hygiene regulations.
These motors maintain the same footprint and performance characteristics as conventional IEC-frame motors but add long-term reliability in corrosive or sanitary environments.
Features
The seamless stainless-steel housing resists pitting and surface corrosion even under high-pressure, high-temperature wash-downs up to 100 bar and 80 °C, depending on grade. Labyrinth or non-contact seals on both drive and non-drive ends prevent water ingress without creating trapping points for contaminants. Many models come with laser-etched nameplates and polished surfaces to avoid paint delamination and support CIP/SIP (Clean- or Sterilize-In-Place) processes. Despite their rugged exterior, stainless-steel motors offer IE3 or IE4 efficiency ratings and support inverter operation without derating, ensuring energy savings alongside sanitary performance. High-quality bearings and certification to IP66 or IP69K further enhance durability in food processing, pharmaceutical, and marine settings.
