The Motovario D/DB series combines a two‑pole design with an optional braking system to provide precise speed control and safe, instant stopping in one IEC‑standard motor. Offered in frame sizes 63 through 132, these motors comply with international IEC dimensions and accommodate both flange (B5, B14) and foot (B3) mountings for seamless integration into existing installations. The plain “D” model provides double‑polarity speed variation, while the “DB” version includes a factory‑fitted alternating‑current or direct‑current brake for emergency stops and secure load holding.

Motovario double‑polarity motors are engineered for flexibility: you can select 2–4, 2–8, or 4–8 pole windings to achieve a wide range of fixed speeds without external inverters. The brake on DB models engages immediately when power is removed, ensuring fail‑safe stopping, and is available in both AC and DC variants to suit different control schemes. All units are built to IEC 60034‑1 standards, feature IP55 protection as standard, and carry global certifications (UL/CSA/EAC/CE/UKCA), with ATEX options on the “D” series for Zone 2/22 environments.
