Features
ABB flameproof induction motors are designed with robust construction and advanced safety features to ensure reliable operation in hazardous environments. Manufactured primarily in cast iron (rib-cooled designs) or fabricated steel (larger tube-cooled designs), these motors provide high mechanical strength and durability.
Available in protection types including Ex db and Ex db eb, they are engineered to contain internal explosions and prevent ignition of the surrounding atmosphere. The range combines compact size with high power density and efficiency, while maintaining compliance with major international standards including IEC, EN, and ATEX.
These motors are suitable for both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operation and are designed to perform reliably in harsh environments, including extreme temperatures, high humidity, and corrosive dust conditions.
