ABB’s General Performance range consists of IEC low-voltage three-phase induction motors built on durable cast iron frames. These motors are engineered to withstand mechanical stress, corrosion, and vibration, making them ideal for demanding industrial environments such as HVAC, water treatment, agriculture, marine, and general machinery. Incorporating high-efficiency copper windings, class‑F insulation, and PTC sensors, they deliver optimised energy use, lower noise, and reliable performance. These motors can be used directly online or with variable-speed drives, and are fully compliant with international standards and ABB’s global support services.
Features
ABB’s General Performance motors are built for reliability and ease of integration. The cast iron housing shields the motor from corrosion and mechanical damage, while precision ball bearings and high-strength steel shafts reduce wear. Copper windings and thermal sensors ensure efficient operation and protection against overheating, and high-efficiency classes (IE2‑IE4) offer significant energy savings. These motors feature class‑F insulation, resilient C3-rated paint, and IP55 protection as standard. They’re compatible with direct-on-line or variable-speed setups and are available with a wide range of accessories and mounting options.
